Smart Work, Safe Work: Leveraging AI Tools Responsibly in 2026

At Afari Travels & Tours, we are making deliberate investments in AI and automation to enhance customer experience, improve workforce productivity, and support responsible technology adoption.

For our customers, AI strengthens service quality by improving turnaround times, reducing friction across processes, and ensuring consistent support at every stage of the customer journey. For our teams, automation reduces manual workloads and enables more focused, high-impact work.

Beyond operations, AI is a key part of our corporate social responsibility. This initiative reinforces Afari’s history of responsible engagement, including partnerships with the Centre for Research and Sustainable Capacity Development and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on media and information literacy programs designed to combat misinformation and strengthen public trust.

We actively support education and capacity building by sponsoring and partnering with AI training hubs and programs that promote smart, ethical, and secure use of AI tools. As AI adoption accelerates across industries, we believe organizations must prioritize governance, safety, and people-first implementation alongside innovation.

This commitment begins in Q1 with our Head of Legal and Innovation, Sharon Juwah, facilitating a free virtual masterclass with Vatebra Academy on 22 January at 12:30 PM. Titled Responsible AI in Action: Safe, Ethical, and Secure Use of AI Tools, the session falls under the broader theme Smart Work, Safe Work and is designed to equip professionals, team leads, founders, and operators with practical guidance for responsible AI integration and stronger governance in everyday workflows.

Later that same day, Sharon will speak at the AI In Action Now Conference – Lagos 2026, themed Driving Productivity, Innovation, and Sustainability. Building the Future in AI Together. The conference takes place at the Oriental Hotel, with Sharon speaking at 4:00pm as part of a multi-sector panel that includes senior government representation, contributing to discussions on the future of AI in Nigeria.

This marks the first of several AI education and advocacy initiatives Afari will support throughout the year.

Sharon is a lawyer with a focus on Artificial Intelligence, human-centered innovation, responsible technology adoption, and practical systems that work in local contexts.

Interested clients and partners are welcome to connect with Sharon at either session to learn more about Afari’s AI initiatives and how they support smarter, more responsible business operations.
