The United States government announced new visa fees for non-immigrant and immigrant visas on March 30, 2023. According to the Department of State, the new fees will go into effect on April 1, 2023.
The United States Mission in Nigeria published that it will enhance visa services to help nonimmigrant visa applicants in Nigeria renew their visas. This new application process will start in February at the US Consulate in Lagos, and they will extend it to the US Embassy in Abuja.
The visa bond rule will allow U.S. Consular officers to require tourist and business travellers from countries whose nationals had an “overstay rate” of 10% or higher in 2019 to pay a refundable bond of $5,000, $10,000 or $15,000.
