Today in a telephone enquiry with one of the officials of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (FAIC) confirmed the lift on previously suspended Nigerian visas.
The initiative has enabled us to learn more about grey areas around the Emirate’s travel regulations. Also clarified, there is no ban on UAE residents stranded abroad with valid or expired visa even beyond 6-months; and that they are allowed to return to the country provided they follow set procedures.
The ICA will automatically grant pre-approval for expats with a valid visa wishing to return. However, residents have been advised to update their data, ID number, passport number and nationality.
