The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has opened a Visa Application and Document Attestation Center at the office of the UAE Consulate General in Lagos. It signals a more restrictive visa policy for Nigerians with further scrutiny.
We have resumed processing of the United Arab Emirates 2 Years Residence visa. The U.A.E residence visa enables one to live and work in any of the emirates of the UAE. The visa comes with a national identification card.
Fast-forward to the good news – the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority released a letter on 7th October, 2020 following the approval by the Government of the United Arab Emirates to resume issuance of entry visa to citizens of Nigeria, this was stated in a letter released by the Air Transport Department of UAE on 7th, October 2020.
Today in a telephone enquiry with one of the officials of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (FAIC) confirmed the lift on previously suspended Nigerian visas.
The initiative has enabled us to learn more about grey areas around the Emirate’s travel regulations. Also clarified, there is no ban on UAE residents stranded abroad with valid or expired visa even beyond 6-months; and that they are allowed to return to the country provided they follow set procedures.
