The British prime minister, Boris Johnson, has declared the end of COVID-19 restrictions, which were put in place to slow the spread of the Omicron strain in England.
According to him, Plan B measures would no longer be implemented, face masks would not be required anywhere, COVID passes would no longer be required, and work-from-home guidance would be discontinued.
This comes as the number of cases reported in England reached an all-time high; as a result, the prime minister has decided to live with the virus.
The Prime Minister’s recent decision to ease lockdowns and instead choose to live with the virus contrasts with China and Hong Kong’s zero-tolerance policy to COVID-19 and stricter restrictions in many other European countries.
