Air Peace, a Nigerian airline, is set to commence flights between London Gatwick and Lagos starting from March 30th. The carrier plans to operate daily flights on this route using Boeing 777 and 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
In preparation for the launch, Air Peace has entered into a short-term agreement with Norse Atlantic Airways to operate some of the flights on the London-Lagos route. This collaboration aims to leverage Norse Atlantic Airways’ expertise in charter operations to deliver a reliable service.
Allen Onyema, Chairman and CEO of Air Peace, expressed excitement about the partnership with Norse Atlantic Airways, emphasizing their commitment to exceeding customer expectations as they expand into the European market.
The airline also announced special student fares for the London route, aiming to make travel more affordable for students pursuing studies abroad. Onyema highlighted the importance of reuniting families and enabling students to travel home during breaks without financial constraints.
Regarding ticket prices, Onyema assured that Air Peace fares would be competitive and more affordable compared to legacy airlines. The move comes when airfares have surged due to foreign exchange rate fluctuations and accumulated funds of foreign airlines in Nigeria.
Air Peace’s entry into the London market is driven by a desire to offer Nigerians more travel options and address the high cost of air travel between Nigeria and London. The airline aims to create job opportunities for Nigerians and contribute to economic growth.
The launch of the London route marks a significant milestone for Air Peace as it expands its operations into the European continent. The airline plans to operate direct flights without stopovers, offering passengers unbeatable fares and superior service.
Overall, Air Peace’s initiative to launch flights between London Gatwick and Lagos represents a strategic move to meet the growing demand for air travel and provide travellers with more affordable and convenient options.
