Visa Duration

The Turkey visa allows a stay of 90 days with a Single Entry, although the duration may vary depending on the type of visa and the discretion of the immigration authorities. Additional days might be granted based on factors such as a favourable profile, travel history, and the purpose of your visit. Alternatively, you can apply for a 5-Year Multiple Entry Visa to Turkey, which allows you to visit Turkey multiple times within five years, with each visit lasting up to 90 days.

If you are travelling to Turkey for transit purposes, you may need to apply for a Single Transit or a Double Transit visa, depending on the number of stops and the duration of your stay in Turkey. A Single Transit visa allows you to enter and exit Turkey once, while a Double Transit visa allows you to enter and exit Turkey twice. The maximum stay for each transit is 72 hours. You should also check the visa requirements of your destination country before departure.

Citizens of around 110 countries can visit Turkey without a visa or with an eVisa for up to 90 days. You just need a valid passport for the entire stay and a return ticket. Some of these countries are: Albania, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States of America and Venezuela.

All other travellers need to apply for a sticker visa at the nearest Turkish embassy or consulate before their trip. The type and duration of the visa depend on the purpose and length of your visit. You should also prepare the necessary documents and fees and apply for your visa in advance.

How long is the Turkey Visa valid?

The Turkey visa allows a maximum stay of 90 days from the date of arrival, depending on the type and duration of the visa. It can be a single-entry or a multiple-entry visa, depending on the purpose and length of your visit. Once the permitted stay is over, you must leave the country to avoid legal problems. Although an extension is possible, it is not guaranteed and does not grant multiple entries. You can apply for an extension at the Immigration Headquarters in Ankara.
