In a strategic move to expand its reach and enhance travel connections, Etihad Airways has unveiled plans for its summer 2024 schedule, introducing two new exciting routes. Starting on June 15, 2024, the airline will commence operations connecting Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) to Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE) in the picturesque south of France. The Nice route is designed to operate twice a week, offering travellers a seamless link between the vibrant city of Abu Dhabi and the scenic landscapes of the French Riviera.
Simultaneously, Etihad will open another enchanting route to Santorini Airport (JTR) in Greece, also commencing on June 15, 2024. Santorini, known for its stunning sunsets and iconic architecture, will be served twice a week, allowing passengers to explore the captivating beauty of this Greek island.
In addition to these new routes, Etihad Airways is set to launch seasonal flights to Mykonos, Greece, starting from June 17, 2024. This move further enriches the airline’s commitment to providing diverse travel options and memorable experiences for its passengers.
Recognizing the growing demand for travel to the Greek region, Etihad is not only introducing new routes but is also expanding its services on the AUH-Athens International Airport (ATH) route. Starting from May 1, 2024, the frequency of flights on this route will increase from 7X-weekly to 12X-weekly, offering passengers more flexibility and options. The airline plans to further boost its Athens services to 14X weekly from July 15, 2024.
Moreover, as part of its commitment to connectivity, Etihad Airways is extending its AUH-Copenhagen flights beyond the previously set seasonal end date of March 31, 2024, making these flights available year-round. This strategic decision aligns with the airline’s vision to provide passengers with continuous access and travel opportunities.
Etihad’s CEO, Antonoaldo Neves, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming summer schedule, emphasizing the commitment to growth and meeting the evolving travel preferences of its customers. He highlighted that the new routes and expanded services are geared towards offering passengers more choices and convenience, making Abu Dhabi an even more attractive stopover destination.
These initiatives underscore Etihad Airways’ dedication to enhancing its network, providing travellers with diverse destinations, frequencies, and travel options. As the airline continues to navigate the dynamic aviation landscape, its strategic expansion aims to cater to the evolving needs of the global travel community.
